Meet an expert dance teacher for a great and intensive full day of a carefully structured course to learn the art of salsa. Be amazed at how quickly technique and fluid movement is picked up, in no time class members understand the concepts and techniques of this world popular Latin American dance phenomenon. The experience includes a voucher to take home for another class and club night, meaning a return visit on another date for more fun. There is even delicious South American inspired food available at Bar Salsa if anyone gets hungry (not included).
Availability: Runs every Saturday throughout the year. Weather: Duration: Starts at 10.30am (doors open at 10am) and finishes at 5.30pm, including a five hour salsa workshop, an hour for lunch and tea/coffee breaks (please note that lunch and refreshments are not included). Numbers On Day: There is an average attendance of 12 couples per session. Spectators: To ensure an environment that encourages confidence in beginners, this workshop is reserved for dancers and instructor only. Dress Code: Bring comfortable clothes to change into and dance in, as well as smooth-soled shoes to spin in. Ladies please wear shoes of the heel height you’re used to (flats are fine). Bear in mind that toes may be trodden on, so sandals are best avoided! Guidelines: Located in the heart of London’s West End, Charing Cross Road runs from Leicester Square tube (a five minute walk) to Tottenham Court Road tube (four minutes walk). Bar Salsa is visible from Cambridge Circus, painted in bold purple and yellow and sits next door to Blackwells Book Shop. Restrictions: Minimum age is 18. Complete beginners only please (i.e. anyone who’s had less than three hours of salsa tuition). To understand the format of the workshop, please refer to the ‘Other Info’ section before booking. Other Info: Please note, a couple is defined as one leader and one follower – traditionally, the leader is male and the follower is female. Everyone must remain in the same role all day; leaders must dance with all followers and vice-versa.
