Description
Experience a true test of nerves with a thrilling flight in a dual-controlled microlight. Kick off with a flight safety briefing from a qualified instructor, before hopping into the craft and heading to the skies! Once airborne, feel the incredible sensation of ultralight aviation whilst enjoying picturesque bird’s-eye views unfolding from the ground below. During the flight (under the instructor’s guidance), take over the reins to become honorary pilot and experience the true exhilaration of flying first-hand. A one day club membership is included and this flight can count towards a microlight Private Pilot’s Licence.
Availability: Selected weekend dates. The venue is closed on Christmas Day. Dates fill up quickly, so book at least three weeks in advance, even earlier for summer weekend dates. Weather: Flying is weather dependent. It is essential that call you the venue after 8.30am on the morning of your experience for a weather check before setting out. If your flight is cancelled because of the weather, it will be re-booked for another date or time. Duration: The flight lasts approximately 30 minutes, but please allow for longer at the venue. Numbers On Day: Your briefing might be shared, but your flight will be held on a one-to-one basis with a qualified microlight flight instructor. Spectators: Spectators are welcome to come along and watch you take off and land from the warmth and comfort of the coffee shop. A camera or a pair of binoculars will come in handy. Dress Code: Most microlights have open cockpits, so wrap up warm. Wear sensible shoes (no heels) and gloves. Sunglasses are recommended all year round. Guidelines: Take the A158 Lincoln to Skegness road travelling east. Travel though the village of Langworth and take the second left signed B1139 Market Rasen and Wickenby Airfield. Turn left at the T-junction signed Wickenby after around two miles. Follow the road for 300 metres then turn right into the airfield. Fly365 is in the white brick building in the centre of the airfield. Restrictions: Maximum fully-clothed weight is 16 stone. There is no minimum age but under 18’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who’ll be required to sign a disclaimer. Women in either the first or the last three months of pregancy can’t fly. Other Info: Your flying time can count towards a microlight Private Pilot’s Licence, for which you need 15 hours of dual control and 10 hours solo flying to qualify. Please be aware that this is quite a high adrenaline experience, not for the faint hearted.
