Description
Experience the fast and furious nature of a rally driving experience at the Chris Birkbeck Rally School in Yorkshire. Controlling a rally car at high speed is a unique skill, and these activity days open your eyes to the different driving techniques that professional rally drivers master! Guide your way through power slides and handbrake turns on three rally driving sessions before enjoying a high-speed demonstration by a qualified instructor of the circuit’s rally stage – so you can appreciate the thrill of professional rally driving. Rally driving recipients are treated to a lunch as part of the day, as well as a debrief presentation and time to assess individual rally driving achievements.
Availability: At least one date per month (runs selected Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays). Weather: Driving may be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions which would make driving at speed dangerous. Please call the venue if in any doubt. Duration: Lasts around three hours, including briefings, demonstrations and personal driving time. Please arrive a few minutes early to ensure a prompt start. Numbers On Day: There are a maximum of five people per car/instructor. Total numbers at the venue vary. All driving time is held on a one-to-one basis with a qualified instructor. Spectators: Spectators (over eight years only please) are welcome for a fee of £15 each (includes lunch and refreshments, payable on the day). Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. Covered facilities are available for spectators. Dress Code: Wear flat shoes which are comfortable for driving (chunky boots or trainers aren’t recommended). Bring a jacket or coat. Helmets with intercoms are provided. Guidelines: From the A19 on Teesside, take the A174 to Brotton, via Redcar and Saltburn. In Brotton, follow the brown tourist signs for the golf club, taking the second left at St. Margarets Way. Go through the housing estate and over two speed bumps. The road bears left onto Ings Lane, over another speed bump. Go past the golf club and bear right, down the hill. Restrictions: A full and current manual driving licence must be produced on the day to guarantee participation. Other Info: The venue is a founder member of the British Association of Rally Schools, recognised by the Motor Sports Association (the governing body of motor sport).
