Description
Take the first steps into scuba diving at a swimming pool in Berkshire. Get expert scuba advice for you and friend on safety and underwater mobility techniques that open up a whole new underwater world. Once in the water, learn how to breathe and achieve buoyancy underwater while getting used to the scuba equipment. Courses in Surrey take place under controlled conditions – and while it’s a bit different from diving in a tropical ocean, it’s the perfect way to get a basic grounding in diving. It’s also ideal for anyone considering taking a PADI Open Water Diving Course.
Availability: Sundays from February to November. Book at least two weeks in advance. Weather: Duration: Lasts around two hours (starting at either 12.45pm or 2.30pm) , but this may vary depending on the standard of pupils. Around half an hour is spent in the pool. Numbers On Day: There is a maximum pupil to tutor ratio of 8:1. Spectators: We don’t recommend bringing spectators, but they can usually be accommodated upon request – please ask when booking. Dress Code: Bring a swimming costume, a towel and a T-shirt each to wear in the water as a cushion from the scuba apparatus, which can sometimes rub. All other equipment is provided, including tanks, masks and scuba gear. Guidelines: Once you have made your booking, the venue sends out full directions in good time prior to your session. Restrictions: Minimum age is 10. Must be in good health and comfortable in water. If you suffer from asthma, diabetes, claustrophobia or any respiratory, heart or other medical conditions, advance written medical approval from your doctor is required. Other Info: All participants are required to sign a medical declaration and disclaimer before taking part. No previous experience is necessary, beginners are welcome.
