Master the art of skidpan driving at Thruxton’s purpose-built low grip polished skid area. Kick off with a safety briefing and 10 minute demonstration before getting down to some serious skidpan driving! Receive professional tuition on essential front and rear wheel driving techniques on Thruxton’s state-of-the-art skidpan course. During the session, hop into both the mighty front wheel drive Mini Cooper and rear wheel drive Toyota GT86 with a pro instructor and one other skidpan enthusiast and put those newfound driving skills into practice. Take turns as passenger and driver – once behind the wheel, try and master the essential skill of controlling a skid in a fun and exciting environment.

Availability: At least two dates per month (could be any day of the week) from January to November. Dates fill very quickly, so please allow at least six weeks advance booking notice. Weather: Driving may be cancelled or curtailed in extreme weather conditions like ice, heavy rain or high winds, when driving at speed might become dangerous. Any unused laps are credited for another visit. Please call the venue if in any doubt. Duration: Lasts for one hour in total, including around 25 minutes of driving time. Numbers On Day: Each session runs with up to four participants. During the driving, share the car with one other participant, plus a professional instructor. Spectators: Spectators are welcome. The venue offers good facilities for spectators and drivers. Children must be closely supervised at all times and dogs are not permitted at any circuits. Dress Code: Dress comfortably (preferably avoiding synthetic clothing) and wear narrow, flat-soled shoes. A helmet and any special clothing are provided. Guidelines: Thruxton circuit is adjacent to and well signposted from the A303 between the M3 and M4, approximately one and a half hours from London. Proceed through the main entrance, up the drive and through the tunnel. The tunnel entrance is slightly off to the left at the top of the rise. Turn immediately left into the paddock car park and at the far end you will see the media centre building where you will need to sign in. Restrictions: Minimum is height is 5’1”, maximum is 6’5”. Maximum weight is 18 stone. All participants must sign a disclaimer confirming a full British or international manual driving licence, good health and no disability that could impair driving. Other Info: When booking expect to be offered the choice of buying a collision damage waiver at £20 to £40 additional charge. Please note there is no obligation to purchase this optional waiver.
