Description
Learn about the merits of skid control with a fun driving experience in Wiltshire. Although a driving days such as these are incredibly good fun, it is also a very responsible way in which to improve your driving skills, techniques and instinct when it comes to losing control of your car. This lessons will simulate the loss of car control and improve your experience of driving on ice and aquaplaning on roads. The driving centre also creates a skid pan with a non-toxic chemical surface spread over concrete, and after driving on these surfaces, you can expect your confidence at the wheel to benefit tenfold. This is a great opportunity to have fun and learn some practical and helpful skills.
Availability: Saturdays around twice a month throughout the year. We recommend booking at least four weeks in advance. Weather: Heavy rain can affect the driving surface. Any cancellations are for your own safety. Please call the venue before you leave if in any doubt. Duration: Lasts around three hours, including briefing, demonstration, driving time and a debrief. Please arrive a few minutes prior to the start time. For safety reasons if you miss the initial briefing you will not be allowed to take part. Numbers On Day: There will be a maximum of 12 people taking part, with up to four people sharing each car. Spectators: Spectators are welcome. There are good, heated viewing facilities and refreshments available. Dress Code: Dress comfortably and wear flat-soled shoes. Wear old shoes if you can, as you might get oil or suds from the skidpan on them. Guidelines: Exit the M4 motorway at junction 17 (if coming from London) or junction 18 (if coming from Wales and the west) following the signs for the Castle Coombe circuit. Continue through the small village of Yalton Keynall looking out for the brown (tourist) signs for Skidpan and Karts. Restrictions: A full manual driving licence must be produced on the day to guarantee participation. Other Info:
