If close friends start wondering aloud about your sanity for jumping 10,000 feet out of a plane, reassure them that you’ll be attached (literally) to an expert instructor and are in for an exhilarating experience. It begins with around an hour of instruction on skydiving and landing techniques, before going up in the plane. Get securely harnessed to an instructor, who will help with the jump from the plane. Enjoy about 30 seconds of freefall, which is so completely incredible there’s no point in us trying to describe it. Then the instructor will open the parachute and control the descent. This ultimate adrenaline challenge is the best way to celebrate special events such as the end of exams and birthdays.

Availability: Weekends and some weekdays, they also operate on bank holidays. The venue is closed from mid December to the first week of March annually. We recommend booking several weeks in advance, even earlier for summer weekend dates. Weather: The jump itself is subject to weather conditions and cancellations for this reason are made with safety in mind. Please call the centre around 5.30pm the day before your booking to check the weather. Duration: How long you’ll be there depends on the weather and the number of participants on the day. Please expect to be at the venue for anything from several hours to a full day, including some waiting time. Numbers On Day: Your training might be shared, your jump is on a one-to-one with a fully qualified skydiver. Spectators: Spectators are welcome, but please note that covered space and facilities are limited if the weather’s bad. Get them to bring a camera and binoculars. Dress Code: Dress warmly and comfortably and wear trainers, NOT hard boots. A jump suit and all other equipment will be provided. Guidelines: From London, proceed westbound along the M4 and exit junction 15 onto the A419 north (Swindon), take the first exit on the left for the hospital and the third exit for Wanborough. After 300 yards turn left for Lower Wanborough, travel a mile and a half then turn left at the crossroads after Cross Keys pub. The airfield is half a mile on. If you reach the width restriction, you have gone too far. Restrictions: Max fully clothed weight is 15 stone for men and 13 stone for women. Minimum height 4′ 6”. Min age 16. Under 18’s need written parental consent. All jumpers are required to complete a health and safety form to confirm they are fit and able to jump.
