Description
Stand up paddleboarding is one of the UK’s fastest growing watersports and a must try for avid aquatic adventurers. An exciting alternative to kayaking or surfing, this challenging new watersport is a joy and there’s no better place to pick it up than in the surrounds of the Avon Wildlife and Adventure Park. Enjoy a two hour introduction to paddleboarding and learn all the skills required from a qualified instructor. Start with a briefing before hitting the River Avon for some stand up paddleboarding action. Learn how to kneel, paddle, stand, balance and steer the board under professional guidance. There’s even the chance to try out a genuine rescue technique. Who knows, before long, you may even be gliding along the water like a pro!
Availability: At least one weekday and one weekend each month. Weather: Duration: Lasts up to two hours, including 90 minutes of hands-on paddleboarding action. Allow an extra 15 minutes to make your way through the park, via the main entrance. Numbers On Day: Share the lesson with four others, plus a fully-qualified instructor. Spectators: Spectators are welcome to watch from the side. Dress Code: Please bring swimming costumes, towels, waterproof sunblock, sunglasses, old trainers or wetsuit boots and warm clothing.
