Tandem skydiving provides a flying thrill unlike any other and is one experience definitely not to be missed. Begin on solid ground with a few minutes of tuition on fundamental skydiving and landing techniques with the instructor, before boarding the aircraft in preparation for the skydive. After being secured to the professional skydiver, undergo some detailed safety check ready for the big jump. Leap from 15,000 feet at around 120 mph, to experience a minute or more of unforgettable freefall. Relax and enjoy the sumptuous view of the Lake District below as the instructor deploys the parachute, you fly back upwards, then gently descend to the ground below. For first-time skydivers, it takes minimal training time and gives maximum pleasure.

Availability: Saturdays and Sundays all year round except for bank holiday weekends. Dates fill up quickly, so book several weeks in advance, even earlier for the most popular summer weekend dates. Weather: Jumping is always subject to weather conditions and cancellations for this reason are made with safety in mind. Call for a weather check around 5.30pm the day before the jump. Duration: Expect to be at the centre all day – the club jumps people on a first come first served basis. A specific time can’t be booked but the jump experience lasts around an hour in total (including briefing, training and the jump). Numbers On Day: Any training is shared, the jump is on a one-to-one with a fully qualified skydiver. Spectators: Spectators are welcome and there is a cafe on-site (accepts cash only). Dogs are not permitted, with the exception of guide dogs. Dress Code: Dress warmly and comfortably and wear trainers. Specialist equipment (helmet, goggles and jumpsuit) are provided. Guidelines: Restrictions: Minimum age is 16. Under 18’s need prior written parental consent. Maximum weight 15 stone. All jumpers are required to complete a health and safety form to confirm they are fit and able to jump. Other Info: The venue needs a minimum of two weeks notice to postpone any booking. Choose to pay an extra £85 on the day to take home a personal DVD of your flight along with some stills.
