Description
Experience the full capabilities of a true military beast with this rip-roaring tank driving experience in Leicestershire. Following a full safety briefing, suit up in official overalls and a helmet before hopping into a colossal military tank for a familiarisation lap provided by a qualified instructor. After getting acquainted with the tank controls, take over the reins and take it for two laps of the specially-designed course, first with the hatches open, then immersed in the control booth with the hatches closed. Finally, take a third lap and choose whether the hatch stays open or closed – with a challenging course, simulated battle conditions and full instruction, this tank driving experience is a must for any ardent petrol head.
Availability: Runs Saturdays, Sundays and selected Wednesdays between April and October, subject to availability. Runs hourly throughout the day but with no 4pm slot in October due to shorter daylight hours. Weather: To confirm the experience is definitely going ahead, please call Armourgeddon on the morning of the booked date. Duration: Expect to be at the venue for up to two hours including a briefing and 45 minutes of tank driving. Numbers On Day: All tank driving and tuition is held on a one-to-one basis with the instructor. Spectators: An unlimited number of spectators are welcome for £5, which includes entry to the museum. A maximum of two passengers are allowed in the tank for a fee of £20 per person (minimum age eight) payable on the day. Dress Code: Comfortable casual clothing and sensible footwear are necessary (as conditions can be muddy). Guidelines: Restrictions: Minimum age is 16. Maximum height is 6’4”. Maximum weight 22 stone. Participants need to be reasonably fit to take part. No driving experience is necessary. Other Info: For the purposes of safety, no dogs are allowed within the grounds.
