Description

Enjoy a high-octane go karting session and follow in the footsteps of Grand Prix champions such as Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button. This experience is loads of fun and includes a thrilling competitive element. Go head-to-head against other teams to complete the highest number of continuous laps in a particular time, with driver changes and pit stops thrown in to add to the mix. Kick off with a full safety briefing and a few familiarisation laps before starting the thrilling endurance race. Prizes will be presented to the overall session winners.

Availability: Saturdays every month throughout the year. This is a popular experience, please book several weeks in advance. Weather: This is an indoor track so the weather won’t matter. Duration: The session lasts for around three hours in total, with the endurance race lasting two and a half hours. Don’t be late – if you miss any part of the initial briefing, safety rules dictate that you can’t be allowed to take part. Numbers On Day: Around 20 to 40 people take part, competing in teams of five. Spectators: Spectators are welcome. There are vending facilities on-site offering hot and cold drinks. Dress Code: Dress comfortably and wear flat shoes or trainers. A helmet is provided. Race suits and gloves are also provided. Guidelines: Head north on the A1 and at junction 65 keep in left hand lane and stay on the road heading for Gateshead, Newcastle. On the Gateshead Western Bypass, branch left to merge onto the A184 (Gateshead, Newcastle Centre) entering Gateshead. Join the left lane and at T-junction turn left onto Derwentwater Road (A1114). At the roundabout take the first exit onto Forge Road. Restrictions: Minimum age is 16. You don’t need a driving licence. Some medical conditions (e.g. pregnancy, epilepsy, fainting, neck or back injuries) may mean you can’t take part. A disclaimer must be signed on the day. Other Info: Please don’t drink any alcohol for at least five hours prior to the experience or you won’t be able to drive.
