Looking for a flying experience to remember? Take to the skies in a 1930s vintage Tiger Moth and soak in unique aerial views of the famous White Horses of Wiltshire, while enjoying the rush of flying in the open cockpit. For centuries, the inhabitants of Wiltshire have carved great white horses into the rolling chalk downs of their settlements, resulting in some of the most impressive natural landmarks in the UK. They are visible and impressive from the ground but to truly appreciate them, head sky high. Take-off from historic Old Sarum Airfield and venture northwards through the Avon Valley, across Salisbury Plain and over the famous White Horses of Wiltshire for a flying experience which gives you visual memories to be treasured for years.
Availability: Thursdays and Saturdays throughout the year, excluding the Christmas and New Year period. Weather: Flying is weather dependent and it is crucial to call the venue on the day. The Tiger Moth is a vintage open-cockpit plane and certain weather conditions may result in the flight being rescheduled. Duration: Lasts around two hours including a briefing and your one hour flight. Numbers On Day: Briefings may be shared, but the flight is held on a one-to-one basis with a qualified instructor. Spectators: Spectators are welcome and the venue is equipped with toilet facilities and disabled access. Safety dictates that pets are not permitted at any airfield. Dress Code: Wrap up warm, wear soft-soled shoes, bring sunglasses and tie back long hair. All specialist equipment is provided. Guidelines: Restrictions: Minimum age is 16.
