Gain a unique insight into the world of our most famous playwright with this tour of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. Start the day by meeting a knowledgeable tour guide and walk through the theatre while you learn all about the life, times and works of this literary legend. Underneath the Globe Theatre is the entrance to the exhibition – and entry is included. Before the tour and exhibition, treat yourself to breakfast at the esteemed Swan restaurant at the Globe. Tuck into a locally sourced Londoner sausage buttie, buttermilk pancakes and the Swan restaurant’s infamous eggs benedict – voted no less than London’s Top Ten Best Eggs Benedict’s! A good cup of tea or coffee are also included to help set up the day just right.
Availability: Available daily throughout the year, excluding the Christmas and New Year period. Weather: Duration: Exhibition – daily 9am – 5.30pm. Theatre tours (every 30 minutes) on Monday 9.30am – 5pm, Tuesday to Saturday 9.30am – 12.30pm and Sunday 9.30am – 11.30am. Breakfast is served in the Swan Bar from 8am – 11.30am weekdays, and 10am – 11.30am at weekends. Numbers On Day: Share the tour with an average of around 30 people (there is an absolute maximum of 60 on busy tours). Spectators: Dress Code: There is no dress code but we recommend smart casual comfortable clothing and footwear (much of the experience is spent standing). Guidelines: Shakespeare’s Globe is best accessed on foot. There are excellent footpaths along the river from Waterloo and Southwark Bridge. The nearest London Underground stations are Mansion House on District and Circle lines (10 minute walk) or London Bridge on Northern and Jubilee lines (10 minute walk). The closest train stations are London Bridge (10 minute walk), Cannon Street or Blackfriars (15 minute walk) or Waterloo (25 minute walk). Restrictions: All ages are welcome, but those under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult aged 18 or over. All areas can happily accommodate wheelchair users (please quote needs at point of booking). Other Info: Please note, the start time of 9am printed on the booking letter is the first tour of the day. Tours run every 30 mins, feel free to go at any time. Once booked and confirmed the package is non-refundable or transferable and cannot be cancelled.
