Enjoy a short break like no other in a traditional tepee. Set in rural Wales, your tepee will already be pitched in a secluded spot chosen for natural beauty and a romantic feel. Each tepee is comfortable, high-quality and has recently been installed with an outdoor wood-fired bath. Light the fire in the stove below and enjoy a bliss-inducing hot soak in the open air, an activity that is particularly lovely at night beneath the stars. Equipped with a wood-burning stove, cooking apparatus, sheepskin rugs and a double bed, this very different home makes for the perfect alternative break. Availability: You can book your break to start on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday from March to October. Summer weekends are especially popular and can book months in advance, please book early to avoid disappointment. Weather: This experience is not weather dependent. Your tepee is heated with a wood-burning stove and will be warm, but please bear in mind the vagaries of the Welsh weather and prepare accordingly. Duration: Check in between 4pm and 5pm on day one. Check out by 11am on day three. Numbers On Day: This large site contains just three teepees and two yurts, each within a different area for complete seclusion. Spectators: Dress Code: Bring warm clothes, wellingtons or walking boots and waterproofs in case of bad weather. All bedding and some toiletries are provided. Guidelines: The colour map is ESSENTIAL to help you find Eco-Retreat camp, please call us if you have not received it with your booking letter. From Shrewsbury follow A458 to Welshpool, continue on A458 thr Welshpool to Mallwyd then take the A470 into Machynlleth (where you can stock up on provisions at the Co-op). Once in the Dyfi Forest, follow yellow tepee signs for a further four miles to the Eco Retreat camp where your host will meet you. Restrictions: Minimum age is 18. This outdoors experience involves walking on uneven ground, so a reasonable level of fitness is required. Other Info: Accommodation is self-catering and although basic provisions are provided, we strongly recommend bringing your own adequate provisions. An easy-to-use gas stove is provided in your teepee. Sorry, pets cannot be accommodated.
