Via Ferrata means ‘Iron Path’ – find out exactly what that means by climbing one of the Lake District’s most impressive mountain’s – Fleetwith Pike. Originally introduced in World War Two, this style of climbing was the perfect way for marines to gain vantage points that no-one else could reach. Climb over 2000 feet to the summit of Fleetwith Pike, and take in the raw beauty of the panoramic views over Buttermere Water. After climbing and scrambling your way to the summit, take on the mighty cargo net and Xtreme wire bridge, at over 500 feet high and over 150 feet long. Bring on the adrenaline rush!

Availability: One weekend date per month. Weather: Via Ferrata goes ahead in most conditions, cancellations are rare and are made for safety. Duration: Lasts for three to four hours. Numbers On Day: A minimum of six and maximum of 15 others take part. Spectators: Dress Code: All specialist equipment (helmets, harnesses, lanyards) are provided. Participants must wear appropriate footwear. Walking boots and waterproofs can be issued if requested. Guidelines: Restrictions: Minimum age is 18.
